OnyxTravertine wall light for bedroom, E27 fitting
Retro-style wall light whose shade is cut from a block of natural stone. It is fitted with a standard E27 lampholder and the LED bulb is included. The beam is directed downwards, in warm white light.
Travertine is a sedimentary limestone rock whose cavities and veins come from the way it forms through deposits. As each shade is cut from a separate block, the density of the pores and the pattern of the hollows vary from one piece to another. The E27 lampholder is a standard screw fitting: the bulb can be replaced from any hardware shop, and both its wattage and colour temperature can be changed over time, which sets this model apart from wall lights with non-replaceable integrated LEDs.
Choice of two stones. The shade comes in beige travertine, warm and porous, or in black stone, matt and visually much denser. The shape, lampholder and included bulb are identical. Beige diffuses some of the light through its cavities and still stands out when switched off on a pale wall; black absorbs more and concentrates the beam downwards, with stronger contrast.
- Material: natural stone, beige (travertine) or black finish, chosen when ordering
- Lampholder: E27, standard screw fitting
- Bulb: LED, included
- Colour temperature: warm white
- Light points: 1
- Dimming: not compatible
- Power supply: mains, 90-260 V, alternating current
- Use: indoor only, not water-resistant
- Warranty: 2-year legal guarantee of conformity
Installation: wall-mounted on a backplate, some light assembly is required on receipt. It connects to the mains supply; an electrician is recommended if there is no cable outlet at the desired spot.
In an entrance hall, it provides a first point of warm light without needing a ceiling light. Along a hallway, the stone stands out against a pale wall and marks the way. Above a headboard, the E27 fitting lets you switch to a low-wattage bulb for late-evening lighting.
