Our bamboo & rattan
Woven rattan and bamboo filter the light and turn it into a play of shadows. Hung above a table or in a seating area, these plant fibres draw patterns on the wall and ceiling, for a natural, welcoming atmosphere.
Pendant lights in rattan, bamboo, wicker and hemp rope, in natural tones, for a bohemian or Nordic interior. The weave forms an openwork shade; material and fitting are specified on each product page.
This collection brings together our rattan and bamboo lighting: a Japanese dome pendant, a vintage woven rattan pendant with E27 fitting and a hand-woven bamboo ceiling light. The natural fibres dress the ceiling and soften the light. To learn more about this material, read our bamboo pendant light guide.
Why choose a rattan or bamboo light
The weave lets the light through a thousand small openings: instead of a sharp beam, rattan and bamboo cast patterns of shadow on the ceiling and walls. These light fibres suit a bohemian living room, a Japanese-style bedroom or a natural dining room. To compare the fibres, read our rattan, wicker and bamboo comparison.
Pendant or ceiling light
A rattan pendant creates a focal point above a table, about 70 to 80 cm from the top. A hand-woven bamboo ceiling light stays close to the ceiling: a good solution for a low ceiling or a bedroom. See our guide to choosing a rattan chandelier.
Bulb and care
A warm white LED bulb gives off little heat and shows off the weave: see which bulb for a rattan pendant. A feather duster or a soft brush is enough for dust, as explained in our guide to cleaning a rattan pendant.
