SoliJapanese yellow travertine wall light, living room

Wall light made up of a yellow travertine block with a 6.5 cm cross-section and 16 cm high, mounted on a wooden base fixed to the wall. The beam comes out of the bottom of the block and runs down the wall. The LED source is integrated and included.

Travertine is a sedimentary limestone rock whose cavities come from the way it forms through deposits. Cut as a solid block rather than a slab, it keeps this porosity on all its faces: the stone therefore shows a different pattern depending on the angle from which you look at it, and no two pieces look alike. The wooden base sets the stone away from the wall and carries the fixing.

Choice of two models, both with a square cross-section: the sharp edge gives a crisp, graphic look. The base comes in walnut, which darkens the anchor point and makes the pale stone stand out, or in white, which blends into a painted wall and leaves the travertine block alone in the spotlight.

Above a console table or a worktop, the downward beam defines a precise area without spreading through the whole room. Above a headboard, fitted high, it lights the bedside table and leaves the rest of the bedroom in soft shadow. In an entrance hall, it lights the floor in front of the door and marks the way without the need for a ceiling light.
