Write to us
At what height should I fix a wall light?
In a living room or hallway, between 1.60 and 1.80 m from the floor: the light passes above eye level without dazzling. Above a bed, allow about 30 to 40 cm above the mattress.
Do I need an electrician to fit a wall light?
If there’s already a cable outlet on the wall, wiring it is simple: switch off the power at the fuse box, connect the wires to the terminal, then fix the wall light. If in any doubt, call an electrician.
How many wall lights do you need for a hallway?
A wall light roughly every 2 to 3 metres gives even lighting. They make a narrow hallway look wider.
Wall light or bedside lamp?
A wall light frees up the bedside table and gives a softer light, directed towards the wall. It’s the ideal solution for a small bedroom.
Is one wall light enough to light a room?
A wall light is ambient lighting. To light a whole room, pair it with a pendant light or a ceiling light.
Which bulb should I choose?
For a living space, warm white (2,700 K). The fitting to use (E27, E14, G9…) is listed on each product page.
Delivery and returns?
Delivery is free across the UK, with no minimum order. You have 90 days to change your mind, and return costs are on us.
About the collection

Our wall lights

A wall light shines at eye level: a softer light than a ceiling light, set on the wall to warm up a room in the evening. At Maison Alméa, each wall light is chosen first for its material: stone and travertine, wood, metal, copper. The material gives the light its character.

Framing a mirror, dressing a hallway, adding a soft glow by the bed or next to a sofa: filter by material and style to find the right wall light for your room. Wabi-sabi, Nordic or modern, each model is presented with its material and type of lighting.

Browse all our wall lights: models in travertine and natural stone, in wood or metal, with LED or E27 fitting, for the living room, bedroom or headboard. Some have an adjustable head for reading. To find out where to place a wall light and which one to choose, read our complete wall light guide.

How to choose a wall light

A wall light is chosen according to three criteria: the room, the use and the material. In the living room, it creates ambient light that complements or replaces the ceiling light. In the bedroom, a bedside wall light or a reading light with an adjustable head frees up the bedside table. In a hallway or entrance, several wall lights spaced 1.5 to 2 metres apart guide the way without glare.

At what height should you fit a wall light?

In a living room, hallway or entrance, a wall light is usually fitted between 1.60 m and 1.80 m from the floor, slightly above eye level. On either side of a bed, allow 1.20 m to 1.40 m from the floor so you can read without glare. Our article on lighting a headboard gives all the guidelines.

Integrated LED or E27 fitting

A wall light with integrated LED is compact and needs no bulb. A wall light with an E27 fitting lets you choose the bulb: brightness, colour temperature, decorative bulb. For a cosy atmosphere, aim for warm white light of around 2,700 to 3,000 K. To compare, read how many lumens for a wall light.

Stone, wood or metal

Stone and travertine give a soft, mineral glow, wood warms the wall, metal draws a clean, modern line. Our complete wall light guide covers each case, room by room.
